This two-character comedy takes place in suburban Westchester County, New York kitchen of Maude Mix, who is having a tough day: her husband is off on a weekend spree with his secretary and she can’t get rid of the pesky neighbor who has just moved up from Texas. Hannah Mae Bindler badgers Maude into friendship and the two eventually join forces against their errant and erring husbands.

Boots, a girl who wears yellow rain boots even when it’s not raining, and a boy called Eggs take a journey through memory and imagination following the sudden death of their friend, Peter. As Eggs dreams of asking Boots to the upcoming Favorites Dance, Boots loses herself in a world of fallen leaves, consumed by her quest to remember the last words Peter said to her before he died. The Swing of the Sea is a play about growing old without aging that examines the way fantasy and memory converge when we lose someone we love.

Upcoming Auditions:

Junie B Jones Web IconCenter Stage Players present auditions for Junie B. Jones the musical. Auditions will take place on May 2 or 3 from 4:30 – 7p. Performances will take place on July 12, 14, 19, 21 at 10a & 1p and July 16, 23 at 11a & 2p. Auditions are for current 8th graders & older or previous Center Stage Players and are 10 minutes per actor.  Actors should prepare a 30 second comedic monologue, 30 second dramatic monologue and 32 bars of a contemporary musical theater song.
 
“It’s Junie B.’s first day of first grade and a lot of things have changed for her: Junie’s friend Lucille doesn’t want to be her best pal anymore, and on the bus, Junie B. makes friends with Herb, the new kid at school. Also, Junie has trouble reading the blackboard and her teacher Mr. Scary thinks she may need glasses. Throw in a friendly cafeteria lady, a kickball tournament and a “Top-Secret Personal Beeswax Journal”, and first grade has never been more exciting.”
